Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install build-custom-chart-plugin

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent scaffolds a project with npx @metabase/custom-viz, builds the React chart, adjusts its settings, tooltips and drills, then connects it to a local Metabase instance to test it. It diagnoses rendering errors, such as blocked calls shown in the console, and prepares the .tgz file for upload.
