Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install cobol-to-idiomatic-java

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent rewrites the COBOL as readable Java that follows common practice: camelCase names, standard collections, single-responsibility classes, input validation and I/O error handling. It relies on type mapping tables and an example, then adds tests. You get Java code that keeps the original business logic.
