In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install convex-schema-migration-steps

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent makes the field optional first, backfills existing data in batches, tightens the validator and cleans up. It uses the @convex-dev/migrations component where it fits and explains the validation error seen at deploy time.
