Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install database-metadata-yaml-format

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent reads and edits the metadata files produced by @metabase/database-metadata, which describe databases, tables and fields without numeric IDs. Foreign keys are written as readable name tuples. It also explains the project's schema, columns, types and relationships, from the .metadata/databases folder.
