Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install excalidraw-canvas-diagrams

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent plans a coordinate grid, creates shapes and arrows, then takes a screenshot after each batch to catch clipped text, overlaps and arrows crossing other elements. It can also convert Mermaid, save snapshots and export to PNG, SVG or an .excalidraw file. You get a clean, reusable diagram.

Frequently asked questions

What must I install?

Node.js is enough: npx downloads and starts the canvas server on first use. If your agent has Excalidraw MCP tools, it prefers them.

Must a browser stay open?

Not for screenshots and exports. Only Mermaid conversion needs a tab open on the canvas.
