Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install knowledge-placement-layers

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent decides which layer an item belongs to: AGENTS.md for a folder's intent, .context for current truth, the knowledge base, docs/ or a work folder. It applies the placement rules, favours current truth over history and keeps the knowledge base conventions. You get knowledge stored where an agent will find it.
