Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install local-file-search-index

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent adds a collection, updates the index, then runs a BM25, vector or hybrid search with reranking, and opens a precise excerpt. It can expose the index as an MCP server. Embeddings and reranking go through Ollama. You get results from your own files.
