Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install macos-dead-hotkey-diagnosis

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent follows a real key press through the four interception points of the macOS input path, to tell the causes apart: a per-app Karabiner remap, an app's keyboard grab, Secure Event Input or the hotkey owner itself. It applies the fix to the single layer at fault, then verifies with a new key press. You get an identified cause and a tested fix.
