Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install maintain-agents-md-files

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent inspects the repository (package manager, commands, docs, conventions) and writes a root AGENTS.md, with nested files only where a subtree needs different rules. It aims for under 60 lines, never more than 100, and links to external references rather than duplicating them. You get short, actionable instructions for your coding agents.
