Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install openai-api-key-canister

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent adds the openai-client package to mops.toml, keeps the API key on the canister as a bearer token and sets is_replicated to false, which is required: otherwise the key is replicated and the cost is multiplied. It picks the call shape that fits. For an LLM without a user-supplied key, the platform's inference skill is preferred.
