Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install retriever-mcp-search-ingest

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent uses the MCP tools exposed under retriever rather than the CLI. It queries the documents already available first and ingests a file only when it is not yet searchable and its path is readable by the server.
