Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install slack-message-formatting

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent applies Slack's own syntax (bold, links, mentions, lists) instead of standard Markdown. It structures the message: key point first, short paragraphs, key items in bold. It also says when to reply in a thread or post in the channel.

Updated November 2, 2026

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the Slack connector?

No. The skill mentions sending tools, but it also works to draft text you paste into Slack yourself.

Why not regular Markdown?

Slack uses its own syntax: single asterisks for bold, no headings, and links written as <url|text>.
