In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install stakeholder-update

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent asks which kind of update (weekly, monthly, launch, ad hoc) and who it is for, then collects what was done, blockers, decisions and what comes next. It drafts the message with the template for that audience, an honest green, yellow or red status and specific asks. The file also adds guidance on communicating risk, documenting decisions and running review meetings.

Do I need to connect tracking or messaging tools?

No. The skill can query a project tracker or chat if connected, but without them it simply asks you what was done, the blockers, the decisions and what comes next.

The text focuses on product and engineering teams. Can it be adapted?

Yes. The leadership, partner and customer templates work for any project. The technical parts (architecture decision record, sprint, retrospective) are optional. The skill also points to a CONNECTORS.md file that is not in this folder, which does not affect how it works.
