Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install stitch-taste-design-md

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent studies your project's intent, then writes a DESIGN.md in nine steps: atmosphere, palette with hex codes, type rules, hero section, components, layout, responsive rules, motion and a list of clichés to ban. You get a reference document that Google Stitch, or any coding agent, can follow to produce consistent screens.

What you get

  • SKILL.md: the nine-step method for writing the DESIGN.md
  • resources/DESIGN.md: a complete example with creativity, density, variance and motion dials
  • A reusable list of anti-patterns (fonts, pure black, neon glows, invented data)

Good fit for

  • Setting the style of a site or app before generating screens
  • Giving a coding agent precise design rules instead of "make it look nice"
  • Documenting a project's visual identity in a single file

Not for

  • Generating images or mockups directly without a DESIGN.md
  • Maximalist or very busy styles, since the skill favors restraint and a single accent color

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Google Stitch account?

Not to write the DESIGN.md. Stitch and its MCP server are only needed if you want to generate screens there; the file also works with other agents.

Can I change the default style?

Yes. The four dials (creativity, density, variance, motion) and the suggested fonts adapt to your project, and the bans can be edited in the file.
