Install with the CLI

In a terminal, from the folder you want:

npx --yes palatekit@latest install text-message-video

With no option, the skill goes to ~/.agents/skills/; add --agent claude-code (or codex, cursor…) to target an agent.

First time: connect the CLI with

npx --yes palatekit@latest login

The agent writes the story as an array of messages, then works out the timing of every bubble, typing indicator and sound. It builds a 9:16 Remotion composition with read receipts, reactions and automatic scrolling. The same template can then produce several videos from a CSV.

What do I need to install?

A Remotion project (Node.js) for rendering. The skill text mentions helper scripts (contact-sheet.sh, probe-mp4.sh) that are not shipped here: they only tile check frames and are optional.

Can I change the sounds?

Yes. You provide your own send and receive audio files; the skill places them on the timeline of each message.
